After deciding what side hustle I could start and directing the money into my other passive income generators(PIGs), I concluded. Blogging was a great side hustle to start.
Side Hustle Decision Background:
Now if you followed my previous posts, I decided that I would not survive in my current job up to the ripe old age of retirement. Many of my coworkers(better than me) have left patient care for other areas of medicine or quit healthcare entirely.
So intending to retire early, I need to grow my passive income generators.
I could work a ton over time, but I felt I would get burned out and rage quit. So, I need a side hustle.
I laid out the requirements I wanted in a full-time employee and a parent can do at home in what little spare time I have here:
Side Hustles For Feeding Passive Income Generators(PIGs)?
Then I analyzed what side hustle was the best to start up, with almost no cost and had limitless potential here:
11 Great Side Hustle Ideas To Feed Passive Income Generators(PIGs).
My #1 and #2 Side Hustle Ideas.
Now using the side hustle ideas I got from web searches, the best mechanism to start earning money, I diced Blogging First and YouTube second.
YouTube As Only Second Side Hustle?
From what little research I’ve done about Blogging, the ability to write with help from a program like Grammarly is more achievable than learning to do public speaking in front of a camera.
I aim to create blogs so I can later add video content. So it was a toss-up with going with YouTube or blogging first, and blogging won. It might not be correct, but it was best I went with blogging first.
Now, the YouTube purists will say, and I agree from what I’ve learned, a channel can have a video that can go viral the first time published, while blog posts sit and stew for several months.

Google Sand Box (Myth, Or Sand Trap)?
This myth, or theory, states that Google will only present your posts to searchers once there have been several months to vet whether the information was accurate.
Several months is a long time, and I heard it was worse with sites containing information that affects Your Money or Your Life.
Regardless of myth or fact, I plan to blog for a while before I anticipate results. I am not holding my breath.
Now I’m sure there are some questions you, the reader, are thinking since blogging seems outdated compared to the TikTok and Instagram era.
In hindsight, I can answer these questions based on my understanding so far.
Is Blogging A Good Side Hustle?
Yes, since it meets some of the criteria I came up with that will work around my life.
- Almost no start-up costs versus a standard business
- I set my work schedule(pausing work when needed).
- Tools exist to help me write, Grammarly.
- Potential can be limitless under certain conditions.
- A blog can be scrapped with little loss if I give up.

How Can I Make Money With A Blog?
I understand, but affiliate marketing is the most mentioned way to make money with a blog.
Doing product reviews based on actual experience is very valued by people searching for reviews, and it is because I also do searches for product reviews.
Otherwise, I’ll learn how to make money on the blog, but affiliate marketing is toted by the big-name blog mentors online.
Can You Make A Monthly Income Blogging?
This is a weird question I read, but it makes sense.
So many of my current passive income generators(PIGs) are dividend stock and dividend ETF portfolios.
One of my favorite dividend ETFs, Exchange Traded Funds, is Schwab U.S. Dividend Equity ETF (SCHD). With the bulk of my investments sitting in SCHD shares, I can feel the effects of having to wait for your money.
SCHD only gives dividends once per quarter, every three months, and budgeting is rough now with biweekly paychecks.
A plus is that I read many affiliates release funds every month. If I could generate enough revenue in affiliate commission, I could have a monthly source of money.
Instead of waiting every three months for my money.

Blogging Side Hustle Going Forward.
I am not an expert, and I’ve been hunting and pecking around YouTube for advice. I have the basics. In the next post, I will cover the basics of creating my first blog.
