An odd term you might hear when investing in stocks is “Round Lots.” What is the Round Lots definition? Well here we go:
Round Lots Definition
The definition of round lots is a unit of 100 shares of stocks. These were the basic stock trading units before the stock brokerage houses became more retail investor friendly with buying odd lots(<100 shares or lots of stocks not easily divisible by 100) of stocks.
Later, the stock brokers became much more retail investor-friendly by buying fractional shares of stocks(<1 share).
