What Is The Best Gold To Buy For Investment? – FAQ

This question often brings me to a screeching halt when I find a fellow F.I.R.E-type or novice investor with whom I start talking shop.

We could have some high-level conversation about the latest job reports and how they will affect the FED‘s stance on monetary easing, and then bam!

“What is the best Gold to buy for investment?”

Pause the conversation.

I often ask why the conversation took this direction, and most people are attracted to the shiny metal. Gold is real money, so I understand the attraction, but why ask me?

If you read this blog, you know I like Passive Income Generators. Gold sitting in some safe doesn’t generate any income. Physical Gold can cost me money, the safe, and any additional insurance coverage. Let’s wait to start talking about premium costs(buyers’ costs over the spot).

I am not a fan of physical Gold. I might have bought some silver to try holding physical assets, but that thrill was quickly lost when I figured the few coins just sat in my underwear drawer.

But if my newfound friend wants to talk about Gold, we can. Once it’s understood I’m a passive income investor, Gold does meet my needs as a dividend investor. More importantly, people’s desire for Gold and gold-manufactured products(computer chips, EV cars, jewelry, etc.) meets my needs for passive income generation.

If you followed my Weekly Dividend M1 Finance Portfolio posts(M1 Finance For My Weekly Dividend Portfolio & Diversified Dividend Stock Portfolio For Weekly Income), you will notice I buy gold mining stocks. I love Gold and how its use creates an industry of mining companies that extract it from the Earth.

This is not financial advice; I’m sharing how I respond to and invest in people’s desire for Gold.

Gold Coins Magnet

One of my Gold Stocks I hold in my M1 Finance Dividends Portfolio(Updated December 2023):

Newmount Corp

Looking over the last several years, the value of Newmont Corp’s stock has declined.

Still, with the buy-and-hold mentality I am trying to maintain with my Weekly Dividend M1 Finance Portfolio, I’ll ride it down while collecting that sweet dividend.

As the electric vehicle market continues to climb, miners like Newmont Corp will work harder to generate income for me and other shareholders.

Another of my Gold Stocks, A Miner, I hold in my M1 Finance Dividends Portfolio(Updated December 2023):

Vale S.A.

I’m impressed with Vale S.A. (https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/VALE). Its yield is high, and the price pattern is on par with the last several years. It’s not too high or too low, but that yield is pretty again.

Still, with the buy-and-hold mentality I’m keeping with my Weekly Dividend M1 Finance Portfolio, I’ll ride it sideways while collecting that sweet dividend.

An Honorable Mention Gold Miner Stock.

Gold Stock, Another Miner, I Looked At But Passed On: Anglo American plc (NGLOY).

I passed on this since I cannot invest in it with my M1 Finance Account; it appears to be an over-the-counter stock.

There has been a sharp price decline, and it appeared to be an overreaction to their cutting production levels to address their expense issues. At least, it’s an overreaction.

I hate to pass up on grabbing a few of NGLOY stocks, but I will have to look for another service outside of M1 Finance to play. I use Robin Hood for options trading, so who knows? If you pick up NGLOY, comment on how you feel about it. Thank you.

Gold, Silver, Copper ingots.

So, What Is The Best Gold To Buy For Investment?

For me, it’s gold MINERS. That is the best gold investment I can buy.

The good news about most gold miners is that gold might be the label they want to emphasize with their operation. Still, gold often differs from most of what is mined.

Many gold miners extract copper and silver, with copper being the most significant percentage of metals mined.

With the Electric vehicle movement, the demand for copper is skyrocketing. In addition to the additional profits these miners can generate with gold operations,

That’s just another good reason I got into these miners – diversification.

My Gold Investing Recap:

What do you do to diversify your investment portfolios with Gold?

Do you buy physical Gold? Do you purchase gold-holding stocks, like GLD? Do you buy gold ETFs like GOLD? Or do you buy Gold Miners(NM or GOLD) like I do?
